Has anyone here applied for the position. If so have you received a response?

I applied using my deviantart link as my portfolio.

I have been asking around the web but since the position seems to be related to Scrolls rather than Minecraft I decided to ask here as well.

Hey Valdark,

Your art seems very related to Scrolls to me. Most of it is in the cartoony style the official scrolls are in as well. I haven't seen the concurrention, but if this is about the artwork for Scrolls (which I think it is), then you have a nice opportunity here.

Try to make some artwork by putting your drawings into the scrolls template, to see what they look like that way! I think the Gryphon Lancer will look amazing!

It is most definitely related to Scrolls. The following is a snippet from the E-mail I received from Jakob.

"Hello!
Thank you for your application to the position of graphical artist at Mojang.
We have reviewed your portfolio and think it looks interesting. We would like to test you to see how well you can imitate the graphic style set for Scrolls by our graphical artist Markus Toivonen (Junkboy)."

Thanks for the template link. I'll see what I can do with that.

Well I'll show you a mix of one thing I sent and a test of the layout you linked for me.

#Note all text placed simply as filler.

Haha that is so nice! Great job dude. Did you see any submissions by other applicants?
You should upload it to the fan art section as well.

I haven't had the pleasure of viewing the work of any other applicants. I have been searching every forum related to Mojang and every twitter mention of @jnkboy to find other applicants.

So far I haven't encountered any who were given anything more than a "We have received your application."

I am really hoping to see what others have submitted in order to see what I am up against.

I love Junkboy's work and would love to work along side him on this project. Not to mention my love of fantasy art and gaming in general. I am an old school DnD player (well ADnD anyhow) and have always drawn characters for myself and others I play with. Working on Scrolls would be an amazing opportunity.

I did get a chance to look through the fan art section and I'll go ahead and upload this one there as well.

Thanks for showing interest in my questions and if you hear anything from other applicants please let me know as well.

Looks like congratulations are in order for @BomuBoi from Twitter on getting this position. It has been stated that "two more potential employees are being talked to".

I am sad to say that I am not one of these two.

Congratulations whoever you are. I look forward to seeing your artwork in the future.
