Hi Scrolldiers,

This is the topic to discuss the article Pilot Errors hosted at The Scrolls Academy (http://academy.scrollsguide.com/guide/pilot-errors).

Please keep the posts relevant and written in consideration that new players of Scrolls will be looking to these topics for advice.

Thanks

I'm updating the bit (should be done by Saturday evening) for better formatting with the site, and a more coherent (less rambling) prose.

Nice article.

I don't quite get the "Fearful Tucking" part though.

If the important unit is tucked away and they do trow allot of resources at me to kill it and cause significant collateral damage, then who is at a net loss? Me or the opponent?

If he needed to spend his "poker hand" to get to the tucked away unit, while I lost that imporatant unit. Shouldn't those two things, in many cases, even out?

...

Do I understand the topic correctly if the "pilot error" is that big threats are placed in such a way that collateral damage is significant when those units get taken out. The correct placement would be to place it in such a way that it takes maximum effort for the opponent, but at the same time reduces collateral damage.

The last point about greedy tripping doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. You never know what you're going to draw. Sure, you can get idea of what's still in your deck based on how many cards you've sacrificed and played but you're ultimately still digging. Card advantage is just what it says; an advantage. If you have more cards available, and as a result more options, is that not a legitimate advantage?

Maybe I'm not grasping the logic behind this one.

I enjoyed the article though. Nice work!

If you are open to more suggestions you could add this one, a common beginner mistake.

Example; You have no units on the board so you drop one in the middle row, right in front of your enemies units. Your enemy attacks next turn & kills it instantly.

The advice would be; Don't waste scrolls or units. Every scroll should have a purpose, unless you have a special reason to be concerned about your idols, you should focus on getting units out on the side lanes so you can build up some power before you challenge your opponents units.
