Greetings,

I'll give a brief introduction of who I am before I proceed. My name is Zuty; I am a 21 year old college student majoring in Video Game Development and Design. I am also a rather casual gamer, played dozens of games over the years, and worked in a comic and game/hobby store for several years. It wasn't until a few years ago that I ventured into the realm of online TCGs and I haven't found really any that are interesting or can hold my interest, and when I do the game usually dies off. (RIP Warstorm) I've slowly moved away from wanting to design video games to wanting to create table top games. I'm an avid and casual Magic: the Gathering player, WoW TCG player, and Star Wars Minis player (was #1 in my state for a few years before the game collapsed ... Stupid Wizards of the Coast ...) I've also dabbled over the years in dozens of other games; board, card, or anything table top. So the following post will mostly contain my ramblings about how I think this game will shape out. Feel free to post below. I'll continue to ramble on like the insane genius I am.

Okay, so it looks like the cards have an Atk and Health value. Judging by the one card (Abuser) it looks like character cards won't heal at the end step like in Magic. So we will most likely see cards that can heal your cards.

Card types. Looks like we have units and equipments. I am sure there will be 'Spell' cards that will have a temporary or permanent effect and then be discarded. I am very iffy about resources being a card type ... Keep reading to see why. Units are the allies/monsters that you use to attack and defend with. Equipments most likely will be weapons that can be attached to your unit cards that will give them a boost as long as it is equipped

Looks like there are special abilities on cards also. We have Enchanting and Movable. They seem to have a number value also, what this means is still unknown. If I had to guess, the higher the number the better that card is in that ability. Enchanting sounds like it can boost other cards. It would reflect how Synarian Sorceress works by giving a temporary boost to a unit. Movable makes me think the game will be played on a board, (also looking at Abuser, this makes me think the same thing) so this could mean that characters with Movable can move faster then others. Doesn't really go along with his double damage to walls and building, so I could be wrong.

If the game is played on a board I think that a few things are possible:

A. Resources are gained by 'Capturing' them and then gathering resources every turn.
B. Characters are moved around on the board and have a base 'Speed' which can be increase and/or decreased through other cards or maybe even something on the board
C. There will be several different boards to play on. May be purchased in the card shop or won through other means.

That's why I don't think resources will be cards. I think it will play like an RTS. Here's a silver mine, have a 'Peon' unit mine for silver. At the end of your turn, you gain X silver. Here's a forest, have a 'Peon' unit cut down some trees. At the end of your turn, you gain X wood. Etc. If this is how it will work, this would be VERY interesting and be something I haven't seen in a TCG.

Another way resources could work is that you pick one of the resource types and gain X in that for that turn and can change to gain a different resource at the beginning of your turn. I've seen this done in some games and it seems to work fine.

I made the same mistake the other day! I almost typed out a long speculation post...until I went and check the forums, basically seeing everything I had wanted to say.

No im expecting for all information to be on lock down till June, then theyll realese around 100 cards, videos, and all sorts of stuff to build hype for the beta, which im thinking, because of mojangs history with minecraft, will be open. Alpha will definatley be closed though.

I think that building cards will give a certain amount of resources at the end of the turn. For example, if I put down a lumbermill card, I'll get two wood at the end of each one of my turns. That way, I can stack the amount of wood that I get at the end of the turn, and it adds another level of strategy to the game when deciding whether to attack your opponent or his/her resources.
