Im new to this game so forgive my potential noobishness.
Is it possible to make a rat themed deck? How effective would it be?
How many different rat cards are there?

Well, one of the top players (Donkey) was playing with it recently. Don't know if it was any good though and I don't have a decklist :/

Purely rat related scrolls would be:

Junkyard

Beast Rat

Rat King

Mangy Rat

Pestis

There are some nice synergies and I suppose you can build a deck around that. I think would need to play this aggressive buffing you creatures and debuffing the enemy. Grwoth offers nice scrolls to make beasts bigger. I would probably throw some Vaettrs and wolves in there, too. But unfortunately I'm experienced enough to create a working list out of the blue.
I would like to see a deck like that, though.

Think Donkey used Nogs and Great wolfs. Maybe some 1 countdown creature to put pestis on? Earthborn Keeper or Wildling should have good synergy.

Crimson Bull + Culling the Flock is a crazy finisher.

I'm just gonna drop a random suggestion here and hope the "rat community" starts to demand this change too.

Junkyard needs at least +1-2hp, cost could be increased to 2.

The card was already buffed to increase attack, and it has resulted in some cool situations where a player gets 3 junkyards out and suddenly has massive 4-2-5 rats. Scary!

Except... it's not. They all still die to a single quake. Makes the health buff really pointless if the buffing unit is so fragile.

I don't see any danger of making rat decks OP with a change like this, but at least the people crazy enough to play them had a small chance of winning vs quake decks.

I've been experimenting with a rat deck in ranked and have found it to be pretty successful. This is a deck similar to the one Donkey plays. Here is a the link:

Quake can be countered pretty easily with appurtenance on the junkyards along with a culling the flock to heal all beasts.

Rats are great units to be sacrificed in order to trigger harvesters, or boost rot eaters. Have a look at this deck for example: http://scrolldier.com/deck/3530
