'A Little Treat'

Think you understand how the Scrolls battlefield works?
I'm guessing you did; however, things have changed.

The Scrolls battlefield, prior to the most recent set of changes, was a series of 22 hexagons per side. While the shape of the tiles has not changed, they have been rotated; this new version removes any confusion on how your attacks will resolve. Previously, your units would travel in a zig-zag pattern, but are now able to travel straight across the board.

As well, they have reduced the number of tiles to 15 per side, in 5 rows of 3. The dev. team found that the previous layout (last seen at Minecon) left lots of unused space. As a result, smart unit placement & movement have become more critical.

At the top of the screen, there are two scrolls; this area is a 'history' of your opponent's previous turn.

Let's continue with the last major change Jakob talked about, Resources: there are now three types instead of four, seemingly removing Energy. We're not certain whether it will be left out completely, but we know that it has currently been removed.

To top things off, we've been given a new unit, the 17th we've seen of the approximate ~120 in Alpha:
the Royal Vanguard. With 3 Attack, 2 Countdown, and 5 Life, (325) this seems like a pretty decent unit to defend your idols with. Don't take our word for it, though, see how it compares!

Until then, please stick around and keep scrolling with ScrollsGuide!
