Mojang is a Swedish game development studio founded in March 2009 under the name Mojang Specifications by Markus Persson, better known as Notch. In October 2010, Mojang became a limited company (Mojang AB). It's name is deduced from the Swedish word "mojäng", meaning "gadget". Due to the great success of their first game Minecraft, Mojang is free to develop their games with financial independence. As of writing, there are 9 developers with Mojang.
Minecraft is Mojang's first game. It was created by Notch, although more developers have worked on it when it became more popular. It was released on November 18th, 2011. On December 1st of the same year, Jeb became the new lead developer of Minecraft.
Scrolls is Mojang's second game, after Minecraft.
Cobalt is a game published by Mojang. Oxeye Game Studios, not Mojang, is responsible for the development of the game.
