Surrender
During any match, it is possible to surrender by pressing Escape and clicking on Surrender. The match then immediately ends and the player who surrendered lost.
Rewards
The player who surrendered doesn't get the Completion reward (20 Gold). The other player gets 60 Gold for Idols, as this is the minimum amount you would get for normally winning by destroying three opponent idols. All other rewards are normal.
Attitude Towards Surrendering
When it's obvious that a player can't win the match anymore, but it would take a while until the other player wins, surrendering might be the best option. This saves both players time, especially in Judgement, where the rewards don't depend on match length. There have been discussions in the community about when to surrender and when not to.[1]
